"On-Campus" goes "online": new study formats in times of crisis

Due to the ongoing corona pandemic, the importance of suitable and diverse solutions for linking digitalisation and university teaching is increasing in order to be able to make the transition from face-to-face teaching to digital teaching.

How this can be done and what challenges and opportunities arise, was answered in an interview by the programme managers of Software Engineering for Embedded Systems. Since the winter semester 2008/09, the Distance and Independent Studies Center (DISC) of the TU Kaiserslautern has been running the part-time distance learning programme Software Engineering for Embedded Systems in cooperation with the Fraunhofer-Institut für Experimentelles Software Engineering IESE. Contents such as Software Product Line Engineering, Requirements Engineering and more prepare students ideally for the increasing demands on software developers in the working world.
